About this site

ntur.org is a site launched in 2025 about our lives and lived experiences as an integrated part of the natural world.

It is the seed, the kernel of an idea. An evolving story about change and transition, finding a gap and adding something valuable. It's late in my career and I have a strong desire to spend the rest of it helping to repair the broken systems of our planet. I'm taking the jump into something new and this is my place to talk about it, as it unfolds. I am the audience, needing to find perspective in the challenges. I hope you find something useful for your own journey. There’s going to be a lot of content about sustainability and the opportunities in nature and managing climate change. Join me. I have no idea how this ends but I feel optimistic.

I have worked as a technology product and project management leader; many years of international experience in designing and managing enterprise software across different domains. Since the early 1990's, technology has been the central theme of my career. It has failed to deliver as I had hoped: pushing us apart instead of bringing people and ideas together. As we tumble uncontrollably into the age of AI, we still think technology is the means to resolve our problems. It isn't.

I feel compelled to shift my daily focus away from technology and towards nature. My ambition for the next decade is to:

  1. Restore the natural balance: bring our impact and dependencies on nature into everyday decision-making;
  2. Help others: embrace the changes we will need to make over the next decade in a positive way;
  3. Promote debate: what will the next generation need to lead more respectfully of the natural world than we did.

Lastly, I avoid social media and encourage you to do the same. If you would like to comment or discuss anything, I would encourage you to get in contact with me directly or leave a comment here.
